HOW YOU CAN HELP
- Help launch new projects to protect island environments and cultures by supporting Seacology. Seacology is a 501(c)3 tax-deductible organization. You may donate on-line using our secure server, or print out a donation form to mail in.
- When choosing an island vacation destination, vacation at a true eco-resort. While plenty of lodges, hotels and resorts claim environmental sensitivity, ask detailed questions about an establishment's environmental efforts before making a reservation. If their answers do not impress you, book elsewhere.
- When scuba diving or snorkeling, do not touch anything. Coral reefs are extremely fragile and take a long time to grow. A no-touch policy will also save you from nasty stings, scrapes and bites.
- Islands are particularly suceptible to the ill effects of global warming. Reduce your carbon footprint by driving less, reducing energy use in your home and purchasing locally-produced items.
"None of us may be able to change the world all
at once, but working together we can make a difference. We invite you
to become a part of the team that is working to save our planet one
island village at a time."
