Saved Acres: Acres are considered "saved" if a Seacology project results in the establishment of a new nature reserve that wouldn't have otherwise existed. Projects belonging in this category are listed in the table below.

Supported Acres: Many nature reserves around the world are poorly enforced or exploited, effectively preventing the reserves from serving their purpose of protecting wildlife and critical habitat. In cases like this, Seacology works with local communities to ensure that the reserves are extended beyond paper and into practice. Acres protected in this way are called "supported" acres.
