Meet the field rep: Ferdie Marcelo
The Philippines is home to more Secology projects than any country but Indonesia. This is in large part due to the tireless work of Ferdie Marcelo, our longtime field representative there.
Ferdie has represented Seacology in his home country since 2006. He has overseen dozens of successful projects, working with island communities to protect coral reefs, coastal wetlands, rainforests, and other fragile ecosystems. He has helped communities obtain green energy, income from ecotourism, and many other benefits, and he has built lasting partnerships for conservation with their leaders.
In our first Meet The Field Representative video, Ferdie sits down with Seacology’s Max Rojas-Domke to talk about our work in the Philippines. They talk about some of Ferdie’s favorite projects, go behind the scenes of how our projects come together, and take questions from Seacology supporters.
Check out the video below, and stay tuned for the next installment of Meet The Field Representative.
